G1, G8, G9 & G2 Minesite Supervisor Course
This course combines the G1, G8 and G9 units (Formerly S123) and G2 Supervisor training units.
- G1 – RIIRIS301E – Apply Risk Management Processes
- G8 – RIIWHS301E – Conduct safety and Health Investigations
- G9 – RIICOM301E – Communicate Information
These three units of competency have been specified by the Coal and Metalliferous Mining Safety and Health Advisory Boards for any person authorised to supervise workers on a mine.
G2 – RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk management process
the G2 unit of competency is a statutory requirement for certain high-level occupational categories in coal and metalliferous miming (e.g. Open Cut Examiners). It is not a mandatory requirement for supervisors, however some mining companies have made an organisational policy decision that requires their site-based supervisors to hold the G2 competency (along with Mining Supervisor S123 / G189 accreditation).
The training course will cover in depth the legal framework surrounding safety on site including managing safety systems, legal obligations and conducting investigations of incidents.
This 3-day course is completed face-to-face regularly at our South Gladstone Training Centre and throughout Qld as required.
