Pallets of bricks, construction supplies, and steel joists can be unloaded and transported to the project site using forklifts. Most shipping companies now have truck-mounted forklifts on hand to efficiently load and unload construction materials. Operators also use forklift to move sheds for construction hardware and equipment from one location to another.

Warehouses are where forklifts are commonly used. Forklifts are mostly used to load and unload trucks as well as transport cargo. Forklifts are available in a wide range of sizes, from pedestrian-operated units to heavy-duty driver-operated trucks. Forklifts come in a variety of sizes, ranging from one ton for normal warehouse work to 50 tons for shipping container jobs. WHO ISSUES FORKLIFT LICENSE?
The Commonwealth of Australia and the six states and two territories of Australia formed the Inter-Governmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational Reform in Occupational Health and Safety in 2008 to formalize collaboration on the harmonization of Occupational Health and Safety legislation. As a result of the review of work health and safety regulations across Australia, the national Model Work Health and Safety Act (WHS) was enacted, which featured extensive public engagement. Meanwhile, in June of 2011, the measure was signed into law. Individual jurisdictions are entrusted with managing State and Territory Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including the issuance of licenses under the legislation, hence this act provided a foundation for them to adopt supporting legislation.
To receive a forklift qualification license in any state or territory, an applicant must first complete a forklift quality training course with an approved training organization and then apply for a forklift license with the appropriate state or territory.
